Green total solution
For the McDonald's branch in Jambes, we realised a solar green roof and several green facades.
For green roof, a extensive green roof planted with sedum mats. In addition, several façade areas were also given greenery via an integrated green wall system (Living Wall System).

The combination of an extensive green roof with solar panels, also known as a solar green roof called, provides practical benefits for the building and the technical performance of the roof:
Why choose a solar green roof?
- Greater returns for solar panels
Vegetation keeps the roof cooler, keeping solar panels working more efficiently in high temperatures - Better water buffering
The green roof buffers rainwater and delays runoff into the sewer system - More biodiversity
Sedum plantings attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects. - Longer life of roof waterproofing
The green roof protects the roof covering from UV radiation and temperature fluctuations - Low-maintenance solution
An extensive green roof requires limited maintenance and has a low weight

A growing collaboration
In addition to this project, Vice Verda already realised several greening projects for several McDonald's restaurants in Belgium.
Throughout our collaboration, the focus on quality and sustainable solutions that contribute to biodiversity and water management, as well as a more pleasant and greener building environment, is growing.
