Green facades at renovation project in Drongen (Ghent)

Renovation project with house and pool house

In Drongen, on the outskirts of Ghent, an existing house with pool house was completely renovated. For this renovation, the owners consciously opted for green facades. Both the house and the pool house were given green cladding with living plants. The result is a house that blends naturally into the garden and the surroundings at a location near the city.

A home connected to the garden

The green facades form the transition between architecture and landscape. They connect the house to the garden and create a calm, green look.

Why choose a green facade when renovating?

  • Sustainability: Green facades contribute to insulation, air quality and rainwater management.
  • Aesthetics: a façade with plants changes with the seasons, bringing colour and texture.
  • Value creation: a house with green facade has a distinctive and contemporary look.
  • Quality of life: a green facade brings cooling in summer and dampens noise.

This project as inspiration
This project in Drongen proves how green facades during renovation can transform a home. On the outskirts of Ghent, a living environment is created that is at once modern, sustainable and in harmony with nature.
